£31,835- £34,735 per annum, pro rata + £3,500 market supplement for suitable qualified and experienced candidates

More about the role: Building Control Surveyor
An opportunity to join the Building Control Team at Central Beds, to carry out building control plan appraisal, site inspections and enforcement. This role helps support the growth agenda for Central Beds by delivering safe and secure buildings throughout our urban and rural district. The team covers a busy area and there’s a variety of residential and commercial projects to deal with and support for training and development and to gain full qualification.
We’re interested in talking to qualified, part qualified or studying candidates about how they can contribute to the team, serve our customers, enforce building regulations and develop their building control career.
Ideally, we’re looking for candidates with previous building control experience and qualifications but we’ll consider candidates that are have experience and training or have studied building control, building surveying, construction and similar backgrounds. The role involves appraising building control applications for building regulation compliance and compliance checks and compliance advice on site. Dealing with the public, builders, homeowners, developers, solicitors, insurers, designers, consultants, engineers and architects, fire service and police both face to face, on site and on the phone/email. You’ll need good communication skills and an ability to express complex technical content succinctly and appropriately to differing audiences.
