Building Control Surveyor

£29, 323 - £31, 601 per annum (SCP 33 – 36)

An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional candidate to work as a Building Control Surveyor within the Building Control section. The candidate will ideally have good experience in a Building Control environment (plan checking, site inspections and dangerous structure work), either with a local authority or private sector.


This interesting and varied role will involve undertaking inspections of building sites to ensure that the development is being undertaken in accordance with the approved plans and relevant Building Regulations. It will also involve checking plans for compliance with the Building Regulations and assessing applications within the specified time limits. The candidate will be expected to have an appropriate building control qualification and ideally be a member, or eligible for membership of RICS or the Building Engineers. The successful candidate would be expected to work as part of a team and effectively manage a high case load. Excellent I.T, report writing, negotiation and organization skills combined with initiative, common sense and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels is essential.
