Principal Building Control Officer (circa £41K)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Principal Building Control Officer (Team Leader) who will supervise the team and deputise for the Service Manager. In addition you will provide the full range of building control duties, be well organised and have a high level of professional ability.
You will need to be a good communicator and negotiator and have the ability to deal with both professional individuals as well as members of the public who seek advice and who choose to use our service.
You should have a degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification and be a corporate member of an appropriate professional organisation such as CABE, CIOB or RICS.
You should also have experience of working with public and private sector bodies, investors, developers and other stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity for the right individual. You will need to have excellent record keeping and communication skills as you will be interacting with businesses, the general public and other external agencies.
About The Service
The service offers an interesting and sometimes challenging workload on standard domestic extension schemes through to experience on small and medium size commercial schemes.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we have recently appointed three new Building Control Officers; this will be an ideal opportunity to help promote, develop and shape the new team.
Trafford’s Building Control team is part of the wider Regulatory Services Team that is based at Trafford Town Hall in Stretford.
