STG is a highly respected Local Authority Partnership with an enviable reputation which has been operating for over 11 years. Utilising a 37 strong team with the latest mobile technology and agile working practices we are able to deliver a first class service to a population base of 630,000. STG not only delivers the building control function for four authorities but also operates a successful consultancy arm providing construction related services to both private and public sectors. Due to retirement of the current Director at the end of the year, we are now seeking a business orientated leader to grow and develop the partnership, maintaining the local authority ethos, and expand the operation into new markets.
If you possess strong leadership skills with proven managerial, business and financial planning experience together with strategic vision this could be the opportunity to influence building control provision within the region.
Medway acts as the host authority for the Partnership which comprise: Canterbury, Gravesham, Medway and Swale councils.
Medway is a unitary authority in the South East of England, made up of the towns of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham and more rural areas, including the Hoo Peninsula.
Situated in Kent in the South-East of England, the area has plenty of green spaces, excellent facilities and easy access to the national motorway and rail networks, facilitating superb transport links to London.

To lead and manage a comprehensive, efficient and effective service working with the Partnership Steering Group and Joint Committee to further develop the building control partnership.
To represent the partnership in a precise and professional manner.
The production and delivery of the annual business and delivery plans.
To maximise business opportunities including further expansion so as to build in financial and resource resilience to the partnership.
Post graduate diploma education and/or member of relevant professional body.
Professional management qualification or equivalent.
Demonstrable experience spanning building control services.
Demonstrable experience in a senior management role.
Demonstrable track record of successfully leading, managing and developing staff and teams to successfully achieve key outcomes.
Demonstrable track record of business planning and financial management.
Demonstrable understanding of performance management and continuous improvement.
A proven track record in successful implementation of change.
